My new studio construction is finally underway! This is a large screened in patio (12 feet by 27 feet) in the rear of my home that we are closing in for my new studio space. When hurricane Jeanne rolled through last year, the ceiling in this room collapsed and what a mess that was! When we replaced the ceiling, we added recessed lighting and air vents to be tied into the central heat / air unit once the close in is complete. When this is done, not only will I have a more comfortable environment to work in, but I’ll have a much nicer view than the one I currently have in our blazing hot garage. Here are some pictures of the progress so far.........

Well, the new studio is finally complete! I still need to get some blinds for the windows and some art for the walls, but I’m all moved in. It’s a far cry from the hot, dirty garage I’ve been working in. Here’s a few views of the “working” side of the studio.
And here’s a shot of the “just hanging out” side of the studio. The open space under the window has been reserved for a new kitty bench.
This is my new glass storage cabinet with plenty of room to add more tubes and expand the collection! Jars of frit are stored up top, and surplus bags of frit are in the shoe boxes on the bottom.
And here’s a closer shot of my work bench that I took before I messed it up too much.
And here is the Art Insomnia Bead Inspector in mommy’s chair. Jamaica is my 15 year old “fur-daughter” and current studio muse. I recovered my chair with kitty cat tapestry and I think she wanted to give it her seal of approval before I could begin making beads. She like sitting on a stool right next to me when I make beads so she can get a little scratch under the chin in between beads.
This is Harley, my youngest Bead Studio Assistant. His primary job in the studio is to take long naps and watch birds out the window. But when the music gets too loud, he goes inside to curl up on the couch
Winston, my big love and constant muse crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in December of 2005 after a 3 year battle with Feline Meningioma, just short of his 15th birthday. I still miss you every single day Big Boy.
